Environmental Laboratory
The environmental laboratory is used for laboratory exercises for students of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics at the Technical University of Košice as part of the courses Fundamentals of Environmental Studies and Electrical Power Engineering and the Environment. The laboratory's equipment also allows for practical operational measurements.
Subjects and learning outcomes:
- Bachelor's degree: Subject: Economics in Electrical Power Engineering (Basic computational knowledge and skills in the field of economics of production, transmission, distribution, and consumption of electrical energy)
- Bachelor's degree: Course: Fundamentals of Environmental Studies (Basic knowledge of environmental factors, with an emphasis on issues in electrical engineering and electrical power engineering)
The following measuring instruments are available for measuring selected physical parameters of the working environment:
Noise level measuring device – TESTO 816 sound level meter – used to measure noise in the field of occupational safety and protection in workplaces, industrial and production halls, and also in public places, in the range of 30 ÷ 130 dB, with an accuracy of ±1.4 dB in the frequency range 0 Hz ÷ 8 kHz. It allows for accurate spot measurement and long-term noise assessment. The time evaluation can be set to Slow (1 s) or Fast (125 ms) as required.
